“For me, becoming a transportation engineer has singlehandedly been about the opportunity to positively impact individuals and communities through safe and well-planned infrastructure and development.”

About

I’m an Assistant Professor in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Previously, I was a postdoctoral fellow in the Urban and Regional Planning Department at U.C. Berkeley and received my Ph.D. in transportation engineering from Georgia Tech.

My research is focused on data and methods that prioritize user-centered outcomes in transport engineering and urban planning. I am motivated by a desire to better understand system users, and aim to achieve this through improved measurement of behavior and performance. Within the transportation domain, I hope that my work will shed light on how the built environment influences safety, mobility, and quality of life for all system users.

If you have questions about my research, or are interested in collaborating, please feel free to contact me using the email link provided at the bottom of this page. Outside of research, I am an avid reader, design enthusiast, and writer, who dreams of having my non-research writing published one day.
